bluegreeneyes Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 ARE THERE ANY SUCCESS STORIES IN GETTING RID OF THEM FOREVER?????????????????????????????????? I have made every one of my 10 partners have full blood/urology tests before being with each of them. I am in my late 20's. 6 months ago I discovered small pin-head sized bumps on my vaignal area and I freaked. I have always been so "careful". I realized that although my last partner was tested, he was a "dirty" kid who had been with tons and tons of women, and his last girlfriend was also "dirty" in her numbers of partners. However because we were both tested before we were together, I didn't think I would get ANYTHING. it has been horrible for me -- I am scared to have sex with anyone because I don't want to contract the warts. I had 2 of them removed in a very very very painful procedure at the docs office where they ripped the warts out from under the skin. now i have 2 very very small warts left, no one would notice. i have to feel very carefully to feel them. i am using the cream which burns the skin. has ANYONE EVER HAD THEM GO AWAY FOREVER? HAS ANYONE GOTTEN INVOLVED IN A RELATIONSHIP AFTER THEY WERE TREATED AND NOT TOLD THEIR PARTNER? HAS ANYONE INFECTED ANOTHER PERSON? please help me, I am going crazy. i have recently been dating a wondeful guy who i know has a very limited past as far as partners are concerned. i REALLY want to be with him, but 1) don't want to infect him and 2) DONT want to tell him. I really don't want to have to tell anyone. but it has been 6 months since I have had sex and I really miss being with someone physically. could anyone please share a success story??? all details are appreciated, thanks.
visotech Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 If they are treated and have fully gone away with no chance of them comming back (as in thats what the doctor said) then you have no real reason to tell any future partners about your past. But if you have them or are currently treating them, then you should tell anyone you potentially have sexual encounters with. You should talk to your doctor about how they are spread and how infectious they are...professional advice is what you need.
Author bluegreeneyes Posted May 6, 2006 Author Posted May 6, 2006 i am being treated right now. but is it ok to have sex with him after going to the lab and getting tested and after they have cleared? do they ever come back? if i am treated and they are gone, can i still give them to him??
TeaCooler Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 yes, you're asking very vital questions to people who cannot give you the answer. talk to your doctor.
einahpets Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 read what i wrote in your other post. its a bummer...but even if you never have another wart for the rest of your life you will always have the virus. and you will always be able to pass it on to anyone you sleep with. talk to your doctor!!! and if you feel uncomfortable with the conversation there are many government sites (so you know the info is true) on this subject. don't replace peoples opinions here for real doctors advice. ...it kind of makes me mad that your doctor didn't fill you in on these things while you were being treated. if i were you i would find another doc. its not like you have a cold...your reproductive system is nothing to mess around with...
ms_jnj Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Don't have any experience with HPV myself, but I took a class on reproductive health during my undergraduate years and this website was used as a reference in the classL http://www.epigee.org/health/hpv.html Notable points are: "There is no cure for HPV as well as no HPV treatment" (for the virus itself, the warts can be removed but the virus is around for years at least, usually forever) "...because HPV is so common, you do not need to have a lot of sexual partner’s to come into contact with the virus." (So dont' feel too bad) And just from what they said about it in the class, you can transmit it to sexual partners, there is a BIG risk if you have warts, regardless of size and a small risk even if you can't see them, so you need to be completely honest with your partner. Hope this helps, I'm a womens' health buff, so I try to dispense my random knowledge when I can.

You need to go see your doctor and ask these questions. Seems you will have this all your life, and have bouts of it, flare-ups etc., so find out all you can about it. Use google or even join a website that specializes in genital warts.
