I just moved from Asia to US to attend grad school this Jan. I like one of my classmates, a white guy. He was the first one greeting me on the first day of class. But we haven't talked to each other since that first greeting because we always sit on the opposite rows. I think he likes me too, because I often caught him staring at me during class times. Then, we often make eyes contact. My problem is that I'm so quiet in the class, and somehow it makes it more difficult for my classmates, including that guy, to talk to me. He seems to be a shy guy, too. Every time we faced each other in front of the class, both of us could not say anything to break the ice. So, for more than 3 months recently, we just keep making eyes contact.

Next week is the last week of classes in this semester, and I can not imagine what will happen if I can not see him every day. What should I do? Does a guy become that shy when he likes someone, or am I wrong when I think that he likes me?

hi, i am an extremely shy guy, and i know that a shy guy likes nothing more than for a girl to approach him and ask him out.

Eye contact doesn't necessarily mean anything. You should try starting a conversation with him and see how it goes. You might even find out that he's not the person you think he is... I'm not really sure why you like him when you've only talked to him once.

To break the ice, just say "Hi. How's it going?" and see what happens.
