Hi, you guys seem to be the experts here, so I thought I'd ask for advice. I have a huge crush on a guy to whom I've been talking to for over two months now. I've known him for a couple of years but we were never friends. I've been told that he is very shy with girls but he compliments me, and flirts with me all the time. He jokes about "our kids" names, and getting married and such. I should mention that twice in conversation he mentioned how he wasn't looking for anything right now, and how he doesn't want to hurt anyone. At first I thought this was a defense mechanism, or trying to show he didn't like me as much as I thought. If he really wasn't looking for anything why would he flirt/call so much?

Also although we hang out at school he won't ask me out. He is very busy with school (finishing up his thesis) but wouldn't he be able to find the time? Does he like me or is he just playing? People tell that I should ask him out but I already have (he couldn't, so we ended up having coffee the next day which is initiated) and I don't want to ask again because I don't want to chase him if he isn't interested.

What should I do? I'm losing patience.
