bab Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 These new laws are driving me up the wall. I was out of Claritin-D yesterday, so I try to go to the store that I usually purchase it from. No go. The don't have a pharmacy, so they are no longer allowed to sell it. I didn't have a chance to make it to the pharmacy, so I couldn't sleep last night because of all the pollen. This morning I go to the pharmacy. I figure it's just behind the counter and I can only get a couple boxes. Wrong. I can only get 1 box of at most 15 pills. Then they took my drivers license, wrote down my name, drivers license number, address, and the amount in grams of Claritin-D I'm buying. Does anyone else think these new laws are a bit of an overkill?
magda Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I thought it was pseudoephedrine? They want to make sure you're not making meth, I think.
Sassy Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Yeah i wasn't aware of this as well. Till i went and got my daughters perscription allergy meds and a hispanic came up with the card to get some sudafed. She asked for her driver license as well. So after the lady left i asked. She said that that allergy meds have that stuff to make meth and i was tripping. She said it was a law as of Jan 2006. I didn't know this law was known till a few months ago. Boy was i surprized as well!!
Author bab Posted May 4, 2006 Author Posted May 4, 2006 I thought it was pseudoephedrine? They want to make sure you're not making meth, I think. You are right, it is pseudoephedrine. I'm so used to thinking of Sudafed. Yeah, I knew they didn't want me to make meth, but I thought you needed such a ridiculous amount of it, that just keeping it behind a counter at any store would be enough. Plus I also thought it was just pure pseudoephedrine, not every drug that has some in it.

She said that way they can keep track of how many they get .
magda Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Yeah, I guess they just go all around town to get enough. Or rob the pharmacy.
Author bab Posted May 4, 2006 Author Posted May 4, 2006 Yeah, I guess they just go all around town to get enough. Or rob the pharmacy. I wonder what the profit margin is. I mean, if you can't steal it, it's not exactly cheap. I'm curious how much it would cost in supplies. Look what they've accomplished!! I had no interest in Meth before yesterday, and now I'm trying to do a cost benifit analysis on it!!! :lmao:
