So.. I've been dating this girl for several weeks now.. we've gone on a few dates and I took it really slow (I just got out of a 8 year relationship).. We never did any kissing, etc until this last date, 5 or 6th date?. Well the last date we um.. well you know ;) .. and I really like this girl and I know she really likes me. We're open to each other and we talk about our feelings and pretty much anything.

I think I want to ask her to be my girl, but I'm confused if it's too soon or I should wait longer. I've only known her for a month. But we really hit it off.

I know it seems like a lame question.. but I've been out of the "game" for 8 years :p

5+ dates and a month seems like enough time to get to know someone and decide if you want to pursue a relationship with them. Ask her how she feels about a relationship and go from there.

I think it's something that you just have to decide for yourselves if its too soon or not. If it feels right, then it's probably not too soon, especially if you know that neither of you are seeing/involved with anybody else, or going out on sporadic dates or anything. If you seem to be pretty exclusive, you probably are, and she's probably not going to freak out or anything.

My boyfriend and I went out for....three months and some change I think before he started referring to himself as my boyfriend - and we'd never had the "relationship talk" or whatever, he just...started saying it, and i was like...well, guess we don't have to have that talk anymore! But we'd already been *acting* like we were boyfriend/girlfriend for a long time before that point, even though we never gave it a name.

Mistake. Let her ask you to be her guy.

Funny thing is, she came over after work today and kinda hinted about a relationship... I asked her, and she said yes.

Congrats. I really hope things work out for you. I'm tired of people's relationships not working out.

Same here, MadDog. I hope everyone here stops needing advice for broken relationships, and starts being able to give advice on stable, loving, lasting relationships :-)

Woohoo! Congrats! It makes me happy to see that things work out for people sometimes, instead of always falling apart. Yay!
