Mz. Pixie Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 We once had one of those tiny turtles. We found it outside. I tried keeping it and feeding it but it wouldn't eat so we had to turn him loose. My daughter was like two when we did this, she is almost five now but she has never forgotten it. When she was four one day she told me she'd caught a turtle at school and that she was going to keep it at her daddy's house. I asked her what happened to it and she said she put it in her cubby at school. So, I was a little concerned about it falling out and getting squished etc. I even called her dad and told him about the turtle she wanted to bring to his house. The next morning I'm dropping her off and as I'm approaching her cubby I see something turtle shaped laying on the blanket in her cubby. She's bent over looking at it and shaking her head up and down. She said, "Yep, he's still sleeping" with the biggest funniest smile on her face. I looked closer and found lying on her blanket...................... A peach pit. She thought it was a turtle. I couldn't laugh at her right but I told her what it was and we threw it away and she shrugged her shoulders. I got in the car and busted out laughing. She's never really picked one up and she didn't know!
