You sound to me that you are trying to talk yourself into something that you already know the answer to

I was kinda bothered by that post and I had to think about why. I feel like I'm being held to a higher standard than others. I think if I posted this as a guest or as a male I would be told to just go and have some fun until I find someone that I want to date. We wouldn't be getting "involved", he doesn't want to date me which frankly is a turn off to me. That doesn't mean we don't like hanging out together once in a while. I have other things going on in my life so my boredom in this arena of life is kept to a minimum as would be my time spent with him.

 

My response if you posted as a male guest, would have been the same. Don't settle. I see you with a good head on your shoulders.

 

The hanging out without dating applies to both genders. If one settles, it creates other issues like resentment and disappointment in the long run.

You are my friend. Of course I am going to hold you to higher standards. Even if you were a guest, I would give the same advice. A good person like yourself deserves the best. I am saying this beacuse all of us already know about your past with this guy. Just looking out for you KC.

 

Like I said, go for it, but if this hanging out with him ever turns sour in the least bit, I just want to make sure that you will walk away.
