jerbear Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Is this a easy let down, as in don't reply if not interested? Names and locations were changed to protect the innocent. ----- Her Reply ----- Hello, I am not going to be around campus for some of reading days. I'm only going to be on campus during days I need to attend review sessions. Cheers, "her" ----- Original Message ----- From: me Hi "her", We've crossed paths earlier at a "blah blah" Lunch with "XYZ". I was the chinese guy sitting across from you. I do not know if you noticed me in front of "A pretzel place" last week. Since our paths crossed twice so far, I might as well say hi. Ask you out to tea or coffee during one of your study breaks. If you are interested reply back.
PlentyLV007 Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 AWWWW....yes.... Big ups for letting her know you noticed her.... I thought that was nice!
Yamaha Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 She didn't answer you specifically and yes it is a let down. Sorry..
MadDog Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Dude. I really wouldn't use e-mail to ask out a chick. It's just so non-manly it would require a direct infusion of testosterone to become close to acceptable. If you had actually gone up to her & told her the same thing, she might have said yes. There's nothing a girl likes more in a guy than certitude.
Author jerbear Posted April 18, 2006 Author Posted April 18, 2006 Oh well... Should have said hi in front of the pretzel place. I felt lame after sending it via email. :lmao: Hunchs are true then. Man was I lame as in loser! :lmao:
kitten chick Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 You're not lame and you're not a loser. It doesn't matter how you asked her out, if she wanted to go out with you she would. Sorry.
crazy_grl Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Yep, she's turning you down. She didn't say yes or make an offer to see you at all. It was a no. I agree with MadDog. Emailing her was a bad choice. You should have gone up to her in front of the pretzel place and talked to her then. With email, it's possible she doesn't even remember you, so she doesn't know who's doing the asking. It's no big deal. Just keep it in mind for the next girl.
Vertex Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Dude, pretzel place? Do you speak of A**** A*****?
MadDog Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 You're not lame and you're not a loser. It doesn't matter how you asked her out, if she wanted to go out with you she would. Sorry. It totally matters how you ask a girl out. This girl has never talked to this guy. She has no idea if he's creepy, socially deficient, etc. How can she possibly be interested unless she's desperate or something? On the other hand, if he had gone up to her & talked to her for 5 minutes or so & shown her he's an ok guy that has confidence, she may have been interested enough to at least give him a shot.
Author jerbear Posted April 18, 2006 Author Posted April 18, 2006 Dude, pretzel place? Do you speak of A**** A*****? Yeah... next to SBUX

She has no idea if he's creepy, socially deficient, etc. Maybe I misunderstood the OP but it sounded like they had lunch together in a group. Is that not the case?
Author jerbear Posted April 18, 2006 Author Posted April 18, 2006 Never talked to her so I feel lame, did pass a few glances at each other. I mean I see her and she see me. We were locking eyes. At the lunch thing and in front of the place. She was in her group and I was in my group of suits.
MadDog Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 She was in her group and I was in my group of suits. You two in rival gangs or what?
PlentyLV007 Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: OH>>>>>GANGSTA!!!! WHATS UP VATO!!! ..... Sorry I got a visual!!!
Author jerbear Posted April 18, 2006 Author Posted April 18, 2006 You two in rival gangs or what? Actually, students versus the suits. I couldn't walk away from my bosses. We've been introduced before in another group (lunch event); never really talked to each other.
MadDog Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Actually, students versus the suits. I couldn't walk away from my bosses. We've been introduced before in the group; never really talked to each other. If you've been introduced, what stopped you from talking to her man?
Vertex Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 I practically live at the SBUX next to that pretzel place. I never have eaten there... I wonder if their pretzels are truly godlike and I just don't know it yet. Any recommendations? As for this chick... eh no big loss, but try in person next time and you will have better luck!
Author jerbear Posted April 19, 2006 Author Posted April 19, 2006 If you've been introduced, what stopped you from talking to her man? She went to talk to the speaker, she was on official business. I was on lunch break. Speaker went one way, my group went another. I think our paths will cross again. If I really really want to I can cross paths again; and that to me is stalking.

I can bump into her again if I reall really desire to. Yeah I should have just broke from the group, interrupt her group, and asked her out. oh well... no biggie... nothing ventured nothing gained. The pretzels are very good, fattening, and delicous. I personally like the sour cream and almonds.
Art_Critic Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Actually, students versus the suits. I couldn't walk away from my bosses. We've been introduced before in another group (lunch event); never really talked to each other. How did you get her email ?
Author jerbear Posted April 19, 2006 Author Posted April 19, 2006 How did you get her email ? Semi-public directory information available to members of the school community, like an internal phonebook. I sent it from my school email account.
MadDog Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 Semi-public directory information available to members of the school community, like an internal phonebook. I sent it from my school email account. That's somewhat stalker-like. How's it any different than getting her digits from the phonebook & calling her?
Author jerbear Posted April 19, 2006 Author Posted April 19, 2006 That's somewhat stalker-like. How's it any different than getting her digits from the phonebook & calling her? Ok, semi-professional stalker!
Art_Critic Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 That's somewhat stalker-like. How's it any different than getting her digits from the phonebook & calling her? I agree.. this is most likely why you got blown off.. If you had gotten her email from a friend of hers at least she would've known you were going to email her.. The very least you could've done was bump into again BEFORE you sent the email... She had really no idea who you are.. Sorry
