Ok- need some opinions here...

So, I just moved and decided to enroll in a new gym closer to where I live. I call up the gym and the gym manager tells me to be there at 7:30 to go through a breif training session and sign paperwork, etc...

So I get there and right off the bat he tells me I have beautiful eyes and is like staring at me... By the way, this guy is hotter than hot. Muscles everywhere, sparkling blue eyes the tall dark and handsome type. And I soon found out that I liked his personality just as much as the outside of him. The whole time he is flirting with me and cracking funny jokes, and at the end of the whole training session he gave me, he gives me his business card and tells me to call him tomorrow so he can set me up with this deal for a personal trainer. As he is handing me his card, he gives me this smile and "the eyes". Being the die hard romantic that I am, I automatically assume that he is interested in me...

Then on my way home, it came to me..he was flirting with me to get me to sign up. I was going to sign up before I went in there, but I cannot help but think this is why he was flirting with me. Was he being sincere or was he just trying to make a deal?? I hate how i have to second guess this crap but probably my worst quality is being naive... Would just appreciate some input so I don't make a mistake here...

Just go back. Stop worrying about it :)

Since you were going to sign up anyway: In economics, we'd call this a sunk cost. You really can't control sunk costs if they are going to be taken in anyhow. Instead focus on the other aspects.

Regardless, isn't the cost of a gym membership worth the potential chance to meet someone you may really get along with? Just go for it :D

I'll give you a workout.

That's all you got, Johan? Come on, you can do better than that :)

Guess you all are right..just don't like the thought of being "used" like that I guess..Oh well its all fun! Just need to take things less seriously. Now that I think about it, a personal trainer might not be classy enough for me...kind of borderline cheeseball.

I'd feel the same way. Who wants to be flattered about something they actually wish they were being flattered about by someone who they wish was doing the flattering just to find out it was only to make a sale.

They make their money on the commissions on personal trainers. It's an upsale thing. It doesn't mean he didn't really think you have nice eyes.

That's how they work at the gym I use which is named for how many hours it's open each day. They even call you at home trying to get you to make an appointment. Their trainers actually know a lot, but you won't get much benefit out of one session. You'll have to keep going. And that will cost you.

I hate to be a spoilsport, but I'd not take personal trainers, tour bus guides, or other guys in those sorts of jobs who are hotter than hott seriously. I expect that the opportunity to - ah - 'encounter' many women is considered one of the perqs of the job.

Well on there are many possibilities so here's 3 I thought up in a few seconds

1) He likes you so see what happens

2) Flirting with a woman keeps her interested, happy and yes you will come back to the gym and think he's great

3) The guys a player and tries it on with all the new women that he intends to go one on one with a "personal session"

Still I suppose which ever one is right you'll end up getting some exercise!

I think it is a combination of all those.. I thnk I was just overreacting. I am an attractive woman, damnit! Men hit on me, I should just not take it to heart so much!

I agree...as I said. That job kind of screams cheeseball.
