Haha- where can I meet guys in their mid-70s, terminal, and stinking rich!

Ok, I'm just in a bit of a panic mood today. I feel like I lost my match when I lost my ex, even with all his problems, and I'm not looking forward to trying to meet people. I've never had to before- I didn't date much in highschool and in college my ex and I feel for each other hard within the first month I was there.

AND I keep thinking- what kind of idiot tosses ME aside?!

(inability to approach people not withstanding, I don't have much of a confidence issue)

I'm sorry but if you can't meet men in their mid-20's NOT looking for a commitment then there's something wrong. If they really do not exist where you live then come to NY, this place is swarming with them.

People that are not good at approaching others do well to make themselves approachable. If you give off an approachabe vibe then you will get approached. Doesn't mean you have to display yourself half naked in a bar either.

Well TUDOR....I don't care how "approachable" some fat and ugly chick looks....there's no way I'm gonna approach.

I might be there working in Wall Street; granted not mid-20's...

Pretty much any large city has pluses, Philly has more arts, NYC has everything, LA, SD, California ditto, etc...

I even considered going to Ireland to find me a nice redhead. If there is a will there is a way.

So far you have some will.

It's really mainly that my social circle has become severely reduce over the past year- the economy of my area isn't great for new grads and a lot of my friends moved away or went to grad school. Those remaining are mainly couples either married or engaged. It sucks- gotta make new friends! Grr. If I moved to NYC, which I don't intend to, I'd be up to my neck in friends, and thusly new guys to meet.

Now its time to put in work on my "approachable" vibe.

Not that I dissagree with you, but for every big girl there is a big guy needing some loving too or maybe a guy that has big girl fetish. ;)

Just keep in mind that Boston is generally a very very young city when you go out.

Marilyn Monroe was size 14 in her day. She was normal but "big" compared to today's standard.

Ms. Monroe was not what I would call "fat and ugly". Think 300+ lbs with a face like a pizza pie :)

Marilyn was a size 14 then- until the designers revised clothing sizes when people started to obsess about their weight. She would have probably worn a size 10 today. You can see this happening still- while a girl might normally wear size 8 clothing when she shops at Sears, if she were to buy something really designer it might only be a size 6.

Fight the conspiracy!

Very true KM. I just heard on the news the other day that there is a woman lobbying to get standardized sizes so that you would be the same size in every clothing line. ...kind of off topic

I don't think this will happen KM. At least not any time soon. In about 10 years you'll see 300 lb women wearing size 2. And skinny rail women will be wearing size negative 20.

There will be no standardization of sizes because then women would have to face reality. And we cannot have that!:p:lmao:

So you don't think men vanity size either alpha?

And for the record I don't think it will happen either. Just found it interesting that there was someone trying to lobby for it.

Of course men are vain. About different things, though. Thus, hairplugs exist, but yet you can see a fat hairy man with hairlugs walking around shirtless. It seems ironic to me, but who am I anyways? A 92 year old transsexual named Ernesto.
