bab Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Well, after much confusion, it's finally been settled. Our landlords are moving in with us. My fiance and I are getting married at the end of May and moving out of state in September. What do you guys think about having roommmates during the first 3 months of marriage? It's gonna save us a ton of money, but I'm kinda nervous about it too. The landlords are great people and we are good friends, so if it wasn't for the newlywed thing I wouldn't bat an eye. Should it matter?
a4a Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Just set the ground rules early on. Roommates are difficult more so when you are just married I would think. Hell I cannot take a guest that stays for more then two days in my space though.
blind_otter Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 I had roommates when I got married - they were college friends, and were moving out in August but I got married in June. Oh boy. They are no longer friends, the couple that stayed with us. But you know yourself better...

Do you think it's because you were married, or just that the 4 of you didn't make good roommates?
blind_otter Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 No, ironically they were staying there before we got married (we were all in college, I married young and am now divorced) - the guy had been friends with my exH since their freshman year in college. It was just weird, though. I didn't feel like I could relax with other people in my home.
mimzie Posted March 29, 2006 Posted March 29, 2006 Well since its your landlords.. be thankful they arent kicking you out?? LOL Just think though, in 3 months the honey moon can start all over again!! I've had ppl living with me most of my marriage (almost 9yrs married now) and I look forward to the day we are alone with our 4 kids! Rachel
