summergirl Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 My new BF has been staying in my country only for less than 2 months. Now around his birthday he is very depressed and got homesick a lot, he misses his country, friends and family there, plus he just heard a really bad news that his grandpa got cancer. He's been so moody lately. He's not too open about his problem and much prefer the "leave me alone" attitude. I can understand that, he's still adapting to live in this new environment. He seems distant, can't be reached and won't open up. How to show him that I really support and care about him without trying too hard or look like I want to replace his mum? What should I do but I don't want anything verbally. Thanks.
Craig Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 You could get him some food from his country. A simple candy or drink that he used to enjoy but is harder or impossible to find where you are can go a long way to boost his spirits.
MadDog Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Maybe some EMO music? (Just kidding.) Guys like to withdraw sometimes and deal with problems by themselves. I guess it has to do with how we're trained to be independent. There's not much you can do at this point except to just be understanding if he's a little moody or otherwise acting strangely. Oh yeah. Unless he's mortally depressed, sex will help. Sex always helps. MD
Citizen Erased Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 Maybe some EMO music? (Just kidding.) . MD  eeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That music should be banned. Its worse then those try hard punk b!tches MD is right, sex will ALWAYS make it better. He is only human after all!
Author summergirl Posted March 28, 2006 Author Posted March 28, 2006 Nice idea Craig, thanks. MadDog, you're right, I can make him laugh if I tease him. Sex can relief stress. Lol I dont think he likes Emo music
MadDog Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006  eeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That music should be banned. Its worse then those try hard punk b!tches I know. I hate EMO music. I know some people on here will get pissed at me but I summarize EMO music as follows: "Let me cry about how I was wronged the last time I was in line at Starbucks on my aucustic guitar I learned to play a week ago." What really baffles my mind isn't just how bad the music is but how the hell girls can actually want whiney guys. There's something big that's about to happen to this world when whiney guys are preferred over manly guys, I can feel it. Armageddon maybe? MD
Art_Critic Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 How about a trip back home ?.. I mean his Gramps has got cancer.. He needs to go back and visit
Citizen Erased Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 My turn!!! Its more like 'My daddy doesnt love me even though I am being paid millions to sing this crap for all of those spoilt brats out there, my life is so hard, I want to kill myself, lets paint our fingernails black and pink so we get even more attention'. I could go on all day and night. Perhaps it is time for a making fun of gay music thread!!!
Author summergirl Posted March 28, 2006 Author Posted March 28, 2006 my life is so hard, I want to kill myself I love gloomy atmosphere music, but I dont like any music with suicidal messages. Black nailpolish sucks on men or women.
