CrashIntoMe Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 I recently broke up with my boyfriend, and have just started doing really well. My roommate and I are about to get a huge chunk of money, and we're seriously thinking about (finally!) getting out of this state and going to Arizona. Yes, I'm scared to move but it will be better for my career. Anyways, my ex (who I still love very much, but wasn't entirely happy in the relationship) keeps telling me how much he misses me and asking if I miss him. If I answer yes, then he asks 'how' I miss him. He's always hanging around me and asking if I've found someone else. I think he may be trying to get back with me, and if he does ask, I have no idea what I'll do. For a little while (and sometimes still at night or when I see a happy couple) I was horribly sad and contemplated suicide, even though I had been the one to break it off. Even if I do get back together, I can't just cancel all my plans with my roommate, as we've both been dying to get out of here. If I do get back with him, should I even try a LDR?
jerbear Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 In my experience and this was awhile back say 10+ years. LDR's rarely work for me. Since you two are broken up and you two still have feelings, why not just move on. If it is a better career or job, go for Arizona. Just let him know you have to do it for you. Now if he wants to go with you, then you decide.
Author CrashIntoMe Posted March 27, 2006 Author Posted March 27, 2006 He's thinking about moving somewhere out west in about a year. Probably California (I've lived there before and for a long time he's never been so he's got all these media-induced expectations for it), but he's mad eit quite clear he'd never set a foot in Arizona. I've lived there before, too, and he refuses to believe me when i tell him how great it really is. And btw Jerbear, that display picture is adorable.
jerbear Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 My suggestion, follow your career and see if he goes to California. See if his actions follow his words. Media induced huh? That is not good.
Author CrashIntoMe Posted March 27, 2006 Author Posted March 27, 2006 Yeah he seems to think it's always sunny and women go to work in bikinis and everyone gets rich down there and all that other stuff.
jerbear Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Yeah he seems to think it's always sunny and women go to work in bikinis and everyone gets rich down there and all that other stuff. I do have to say, when I was in San Diego, yes women were in bikinis, most of the people there are "rich", it was sunny but rained a little. Now in San Fran, this side of the street, 50 degrees, the other side 80 degrees, go figure! Now rich and all, well high standard of living tends to have higher pay check. Vegas is like that somewhat, the strip that is.
Author CrashIntoMe Posted March 27, 2006 Author Posted March 27, 2006 Oh I know some parts are like that, but he doesn't believe me when I say others aren't.
jerbear Posted March 27, 2006 Posted March 27, 2006 Oh I know some parts are like that, but he doesn't believe me when I say others aren't. He will learn oneday, hopefully when it is not to late. Good luck in Arizona, it is a very nice state, I think the state has their act together. You going to be in Pheonix, Scottsdale, or somewhere else?
Author CrashIntoMe Posted March 27, 2006 Author Posted March 27, 2006 Probably Tucson or Sierra Vista.
