Author brightskies Posted April 15, 2006 Author Posted April 15, 2006 Its a preference and I have seen what happens when you don't wait. A lof of my close friends ( ages 14- 20s ) are pregnant with babies daddies who banged and left them. Pregnant at 14?! Geez. I know it happens, sometimes even earlier, but it still shocks me to hear it. At 14, I was busy trying to survive highschool and adolescence. I can't even imagine being a mom now while I'm in my early 20s -- much less being one at 14! Did your friend keep up with school? How is she handling motherhood at such an early age? "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free"? This usually points to people who are getting booty first hand but don't want a commitment. A lot of people are too afraid of commitment so they shy away from marriage ... I'm mildly ambivalent about that old saying. It seems to imply that sex and even the woman is a commodity to be bought and sold, which kind of cheapens sex. But maybe I'm reading too much into it. To be honest, I'm mildly nervous about lifelong-term commitment, what with all this stuff about divorce/infidelity. But it would make me incredibly happy to one day find someone that I could have that with.
