Blue collar men can cheat as well. Just think of all those mailmen, plumbers and delivery people servicing lonely housewives.

Not any civil war, but the one between North and the Confederates versus the war between American and Britain for independence, he didn't know that they were two separate wars and the difference between them. It's like I have to explain things when we're watching tv cause he will ask retarded questions.

I don't want a guy too upscale and wealthy either, because my philosophy is that a man with more money is more likely to cheat because they have the means to and are likely to have more opportunities. So either way I'm screwed anyways. Date someone poor and you have to pay for them. Date someone rich and they are more likely to cheat. Of course a poor man can cheat too, I just think the chance of that happening is lower than a wealthier man.

No offense dear but that's got to be one of the dumbest comments I've read in a while! A person's morals and values have nothing to do with socio-economic standing. That's just an ignorant statement.

Everyone can cheat, my point was that a man with a lot of wealth has more OPPORTUNITIES to cheat. A man who's a millionaire, even if he is unattractive can attract of very attractive model caliber women, and a lot of women are very drawn to men with a lot of money (gold diggers). Of course a wealthy man can be faithful but it would take more willpower on his behalf because a lot of women would be throwing themselves at him all the time.

A wealthier would just have more opportunity to meet women that's all, and that leads to more temptations. If person A has more temptation in front of him versus person B, then person A is more LIKELY to cheat. The odds are increased in this instance I would think.

I grew up poor and they are cheating all over the place. Why do you think poor communities have such a a fatherless birth rate? If a person will cheat they will cheat no matter what you do.

I agree that it has to do more with a person's morals and upbringing...

In my family (9 kids) I can honestly say that none of us would ever think of cheating! It was just one of those things in life that was considered to be SO WRONG!

Does it happen all the time to people? You bet! Does it make life any easier, doubtful...

I do think either they are a person who will or they won't... maybe the ones who will are just spreading their love around!

Sorry...doesn't hold up. There are no more temptations for a wealthy man than there are for those who aren't. The TYPE of women may be different but the temptations are the same nonetheless.

Temptation is directly proportional to the chances of getting laid. Wealthy men have more temptations simply because they have more opportunities!

I think someone who is wealthy has women flocking to him, while someone who is poor is more likely to have to ACTIVELY search out for someone to cheat with which takes more effort. Even if the wealthy man intends to be faithful he probably gets more attention from women coming on to him which makes it harder to say no.

Regardless of social status most men cheat anyways (rich or poor), I read from Kinsey's study that around 60% of men cheat anyways, which is quite high. It must be harder for someone wealthy because they receive more attention.

Oh, I see. :) I was just kidding about the civil war anyway. I see now what you mean. I had a BF who was very low class in every sense. I stayed with him for 6 years, because he was my first and I didn't know any better. I thought he was a good to person just to realize years later that he wasn't even that, only by analizing my memories. Don't waste your precious time on someone who is below you intellectually. That combination never works.

I don't think that wealthy men are more prone to cheating. I think the handsome men get the most attention (opportunities to say "no"). They probably get hit on everywhere. If you want a guy with no temtations - find someone completely undesirable. And I assure you, he will find ONE woman who will want him and cheat on you because of his insecurities. My mom told me she had a gorgeous friend who married some frog who cheated on her.

Overall, I don't think infidelity comes from the outside. Whether it's one temptation or a hundred - if he is faithful, he will reject them. I also don't think that women are crazy about dating a married, wealthy man. They would probably rather date someone cute and funny and smart if he is already married (I assume that your final goal is to get married or live with someone).

Most of all, you don't want your guy to be faithful to you just because nobody wants him, do you? There will always be temptations and offers both for you and your partner. In my book, if my husband hits on a few women but they reject him because they don't like him - it's the same as if he cheated on me, because he WANTED to. I want him to say NO to all temptations no matter how numerous they might be.

And finally, I don't think that guys are so tempted to cheat. They might like to watch beautiful women and even flirt with them, but cheating happens when the person is a dog and/or doesn't love/respect his lady and/or is very disappointed in their relationship.

My $.02. :o
