Guest- Tommy Jones Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Sorry everybody I tried the search function but couldn't find the answer to my question. I have found a girl I think is a sweetheart and really want to ask her on a date. But I don't have a nice car at all. Should this hinder me asking her out at all? She drives a really new Honda Civic and mine is an old Dodge Pickup, with an ugly camper shell I can't remove. Darn I want a new vehicle, but I have to make due with what I have right now. For some reason I fear her saying something like, "Your nice, but I'm not going to ride around in that." ANY HELP OR ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED! Thank You
Guest Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 If your vehicle is spotless and looks immaculate inside and out, she should have no problem.
MadDog Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 If she's going to refuse to go out with you because of the type of car you drive, that's probably the kind of girl you want to stay away from anyway (gold digger.) I drive a pretty old (but clean) car and it hasn't kept a girl from wanting to go out with me even once. If you didn't have a car and were planning on going out on dates with your bus pass, that would be a problem. MD
SuperMonk Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 LOL , yeah if a girl gives you the shove off cause of the crap car you drive, then it was never meant to be!
clynn Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Yah, if she isn't into you cuz of your car then who cares about her anyway?
djrdei Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 I really dont think cars matter to girls. I drive a brand new GMC truck and girls dont even notice it. Plus Ill have my dads Corvette out and still no luck. Im a huge car guy, I just wish i could find a girl who was into cars as much as I am.
Dinnj1 Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 I really dont think cars matter to girls. to some girls... you should check that. I've met plenty... plenty of the wrong ones... granted, I've always had a half decent car. But the higher maintenance, MTV Pimp my ride, materialistic CRIBS generation girls DO care.... hence, a girl you don't want to be with anyway. I had the opportunity to take a girl out in my work truck... it was fairly new, clean... comfortable, loaded... but still a work truck.... and a great test. After arriving at our destination, she commented on the truck... not so happy about it. Hmmm... wonder how she felt about the inside of the Taxi that drove her home that night? Again, if she doesn't take the time to get to know YOU as a person because of what you drive, then shes' not worth the effort.

Kelly and Ja Rule have to say about this topic: Kelly: "If it wasn't for the money, cars and movies stars and jewels And all these things I got I wonder, hey Would you still want me?" Ja Rule (same song): "All my bros, chedda and glamorous things Copped a few cars A crib with a east and west wing Cuz this is how i'm livin and yall women know the secrets Of how to get it and keep it" I can only conclude having a phat ride is monumental in getting all the chicks or that a lot of them care at least. The point is that you should just give up on chicks like that. Unless you just want a dime piece but that's another topic altogether. MD
djrdei Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Well i think a girl should notice then that im 22 and I just bought a brand new GMC that was well over 30K. To me this shows that because i bust my butt working i can buy that and i wish girls would notice that.
Delectable Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 LOL My boyfriend was in LOVE with his 1986 converstion van...I HATED IT....Love him...hated that van. It just broke down...it's totalled...he's grieving BIG TIME. My heart sank when he started looking for a new van:confused: ...he is also looking for cars:laugh: . Whatever he puts his keys into...as long as he is putting his special key into me:love: ...I'm cool. Moral of the story: What you drive means nothing

FYI The type of girl that is impressed by this will only be impressed if your gf payment matches or exceeds your car payment....if that is what floats your boat dude...

MD No offense and everything, but R.Kelly is a rapist and Ja Rule is a tool. What their opinions in relation to women are really does not mean anything, considering the type of women whom they choose to surround themselves with, because they think they are all THAT, are sleazy skanks, what they say in that crap they pass off as music means nil.

So it was just sheer coincidence that MTV called up Ja Rule immediately following the 911 attacks to see what his opinion was about the events that transpired? I don't think so. He's clearly one of the great minds of the world today. MD

Guys who buy sports cars and $30 grand vehicles just to impress other people makes me assume they are attempting to compensate for a tiny... uh... brain. I'm sure that's not applicable to you though.

MTV is the first place I'd expect to find the great minds of the world! There's credibility for ya!

Your young.. one day you will figure out that you didn't buy a 30k car.. you wasted 20k of the 30k on a depreciating piece of steel.. it isn't an asset yet because the bank owns it.. How much your car costs.. IMO shows exactly how stupid you are with your money.. At 22 why not save your money and go buy a new house ?.. That is impressive... and ALL girls would notice your house
MadDog Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 How much your car costs.. IMO shows exactly how stupid you are with your money.. That's probably going a little too far. I agree if you're spending over $100k on a car that's excessive but what's wrong with spending some money on a car if you have it? I think it's stupid when people live in small apartments in the ghetto but spend money on an expensive car. I don't see anything wrong with spending money on a nice car if you already have a nice house. MD

MD You missed my whole point.. he is 22 ...If he wants to impress the ladies do it with an appreciating asset.. Woman will notice that.. at 22 a woman will look at his 30k car and say that he doesn't manage his money..
MadDog Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 at 22 a woman will look at his 30k car and say that he doesn't manage his money.. No they won't. Lots of girls that age are easily impressed by all things new and shiny. They'd probably be more impressed with you driving a Benzino and living in an apartment than owning your own condo and driving a Ford Pinto. It seems much cooler driving around in a nice car with your new boyfriend than to be hanging out in his 2 bedroom condo that he owns. MD

I bought my first house ( not condo ) at 22.. I'm 42 now.. and trust me.. I have lived thru impressing a lady.. A woman's glance will only last for an hour on a car.. it will last forever if you show them responsibilty

That is impressive... and ALL girls would notice your house I agree with Art_critic on this one. Not only, does it show how badly you manage your money but also where you place items on your priority list. If a guy had a great looking house, that would definately stand out for me... heck I'd just stand there looking at it for hours. Cars on the other hand, don't do zip for me. If you really want to show your cheesy, sleazy and lame side of yourself and the ton of cash you want to waste then buy a flashy car to attract all the gold-diggers!

The comfort in his OWN home, no parents lurking and listening - Or in his brand new car??? Tough choice, eh!

He can barely even grasp the English Language and is normally too stoned to know he has a brain, let alone how to use it. MTV is not exactly a forum of great minds. Its a bunch of 20-somethings who whoop at a wet T-Shirt competition, or a place for that idiot Bam Margera to eat s*** for fun whilst having sex with a donkey or whatever they get up to. C'mon. 911 was a time when all celebrities were asked of their opinions because it was a sign they were supporting their country, and another reason for them to get their heads on TV (which also means RATINGS) not because they were being called in to give their intelligent opinions on how it happened, why and who did it!

amerikajin Posted March 22, 2006 Posted March 22, 2006 Art Critic is right. Boys will try to impress women with cars; men impress by showing fiscal responsibility and drive.
