Would I wonder if she was lying ? I would ask for specifics of course but I would walk into it ( or out ) with an OPEN mind !

If someone were to tell me that her ex I'm going out with abused her, you are damn right I'd listen. And pay attention. Would I leave him immediately? No. Would I pay attention if I already had a gut feeling or if something happened to confirm what she said? Damn straight. And so what if this woman doesn't happen to believe - AT LEAST YOU TRIED! You can't excuse yourself from being a responsible human by presupposing someone else's reaction and thinking it will be negative. NOBODY yet has learned to read minds that I know of. Until you tell her, you don't know how she'll react. So tell her. It's not like you were about to be best buds anyway so if she isn't pleased, no biggie.
