AmItheOne Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Ok...so I have posted on here before that my bf of almost 2 years has never said "I love you", well today I get a card in the mail (its a LDR) that says lots of cute things like "without you, I'm sad, cranky, sleepless...and he writes in it "just wanted to let you know that I was thinking of you, congrats on your raise and promotion" (I just got a huge promotion) and signs it "Love". My question is, does the equate to an "I love you"? BTW, I was so happy to get this card and I don't really care if its not an "I love you", he has never done anything like this before and it was sooo sweet.
whats wrong with me Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 YES!!! is he a shy guy? that does sound sweet...you must feel lucky to have someone that cares about you like that. Since this was the 1st time he did something like that... he may want to take your relationship further and hes testing your reaction. I wish somebody would have sent me a card like that!!!!
BeFree Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Right before my bf finally said "I love you" He signed my birthday card "Love, Tony." It was the first time he had done that. The next day he finally said those three little words. BTW, it took him about 2 years. HE LOVES YOU..
Author AmItheOne Posted March 13, 2006 Author Posted March 13, 2006 Thanks so much...that's exactly what I wanted to hear !!!! It was such a sweet gesture...I've kept the card in my purse since I got it. I haven't been able to see him in over a month, so he called me this weekend and said no matter what he is coming down this weekend...YAY!!! WWWM...I think he may be testing my reaction because yesterday he called because he was looking at some property to buy and build a house and wanted to know what I thought (about price, location etc) and that he would feel better if he had dual income before he spent that kind of money on a house (with my recent raise, we could easily afford the house) and I got the feeling he was waiting for me to say something about buying it with him. I am going to look at it next weekend, so I guess we will see (although he knows I do not plan to move there, its a very small town and I couldn't make the money there that I make where I am). Guess we will see!
roxy_1980 Posted March 14, 2006 Posted March 14, 2006 People tend to shy away from the word "love" unless they actually want that word out there. People will look painstakingly for a valentine's day card that excludes the word love if that's not where the relationship is yet. It is not a word thrown around lightly if it wasn't mentioned for 2 years. He means it! All the Best, Roxy
