country gal Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Long story short, we just started dating.... well we started dating in December and then he went away travelling for 2+ months throughout which we kept in regular contact. Despite this regular contact I still dont feel like we've really begun dating seriously. I know he really likes me and I am definately diggin on him.... but his birthday is next week and I'm stumped. I'm looking for any cool birthday activity ideas ... (i'm not buying him anything... but want to plan something fun and romantic). hes also the artistic intellectual type if that helps.... thanks!!
the_alchemyst Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Hmm . . . Why don't you try to find a place where you know you guys will be alone? If you can find such a place, then why not make him an exclusive party? You can make him his favorite dinner dish. You can also adorn the place so that it will be intimate and romantic, as you say you want it to be. You can have a nice candle lit dinner, which is very traditional, but also very sweet. Also, you can try your hand at writing him a poem of whatever you deem appropriate, and let him know what he means to you in this way. You can also recite this to him after dinner. (This can feed his artistic and intellectual hunger. ) Then, after that is done, you can clear the table/get it out of the way, and play some music you'll both enjoy and dance. You know--drinks and dance. Maybe something like that. Or maybe I just wish someone did something like that for me.
agnf666 Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 I would either take him out to his favorite restuarant... or just make something he really likes... Maybe you should make him dinner and then spend some time together... Rent a movie or something. That way you can see where the relationship is going to go...
MadDog Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 I'd definately go with agnf's more casual idea of dinner and a movie. I think poems and a candle lit dinner would be cool but like a year into a relationship. It sounds like these two have only gone out a handful of times. Too much too soon kinda sucks cause you can only go forward in a relationship and not backwards. If you immediately jumped to a candle lit dinner and poems on your third date or whatever, what's the 5th date going to bring? An engagement? MD
the_alchemyst Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Good point. The reason why I suggested making him something instead of going out to eat is because she mentioned she wasn't going to buy him anything, so I figured she meant not spending money in general. Renting a movie is a good idea, but that seems too casual, at least to me. I would try to do something a little more special, given that it is his birthday, and not something as generic. Dancing is generic too, but dancing at home is a little more special and way more romantic. Maybe you can try something like dinner, movies, and dancing, but it a more creative way. Or in general: Just try something that you would do on a normal date, but give it a more creative and unique spin.
MadDog Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Dancing is generic too, but dancing at home is a little more special and way more romantic. Yes. Dancing at home can be special and HOT depending on what type of dancing you're talking about. MD
agnf666 Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 A at home date can be HOT... I think that that would be the best for her... Get a new release movie or something... just chill... Since you don't want to spend money for his birthday this is the best way... Plus guys love woman that can cook...
