AmItheOne Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 For about the last 2 1/2 years I have had a BIG problem with grinding my teeth in my sleep. My ex-boyfriend started noticing it then, we were both in college and I was stressed to the max so I figured that was all it was. Now 2 years later, I have graduated from college...granted I am a single mom working full time (her father passed away) and we never seem to have enough money but I in no way feel the pressure I did in school and working full time. Why do I still grind my teeth? I wake up every morning with jaw pain...my dentist says I have no grooves in my back teeth anymore, but I don't know how to make it stop!! I've tried the mouth guards but I spit them out in my sleep (I am a very heavy sleeper, my teeth grinding wakes everyone up but me). Does anyone have any suggestions PLEASE!!
JadeStar Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 I grind me teeth as well. It comes from anxiety usually. I got a mouth guard that my dentist fit me for but they can be expensive. If you're spitting yours out not sure what to tell you. However, you might want to see about some techniques that will help you with the stress/anxiety in your life. Maybe learn some relaxation tips. cantlivewithoutyou Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 do you drink caffeine? i know its hard to quit drinking it, but that will absolutely make you grind your teeth, and it doesn't take much either. mouth guards suck!
