skeptik224 Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 My ex came by last night to pick up her bike that's been at my house forever. In one way, I'm happy. I have no more ties to her. in the other way, I'm sad. I have no more ties to her. She seemed so happy, but she's the kind of person you NEVER will see sad. She always has a smile on her face. I asked for a hug - stupid mistake - she gave it to me. Then, as she was leaving she asked "plans sometime?" I said yeah, just let me know. She said "really? You're ok?" I said just let me know and left it at that. I don't get it, and I hate it. I can't get mad at her. I don't know how. What do I do?
greenshift Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Leave it at that, and be glad that you don't have any more of her stuff to remind you. She wants to know that you're okay so she doesn't have to feel like a heartless wench - it's actually pretty selfish of her.
qnmc Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Unfortunately, the only thing you can do: let her go. Be unavailable to her until you are truly ready to be friends and go back to NC. For me it took a couple years before I was ready to be friends with an ex I broke up with back in 2002. We were together 4 years. This is just a set back that may stick with you for a few days, but stay strong, it will pass.
PlentyLV007 Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Let her go...I think that was nice what you guys did....left it open for the future...no burned bridges. It's never easy to see the one you love walk away. Good job!!!
Author skeptik224 Posted March 3, 2006 Author Posted March 3, 2006 She just sent me an e-mail wanting to know if I have her bowling ball. She hasn't bowled in at least 2 years - if not longer. It's almost as if she's trying to keep contact with me and see me again. Either way, she can wait until Monday for a response.
