(We dated for 8 months.. broken up for 2 and no contact for almost a month.. ended on good terms.. I still love him and would love to get back together.. but I know I must move on). My question is I know he'll probably approach me to see what's new etc.. I feel like if this happens to flat out tell him "I can't do this.. sorry I just can't talk to you cause I don't want to be one of those stupid girls that are friends with their exs and still hope to get back with them.. I have to have my space to get over you. I wish we could be frineds but it won't help me. So just trust I'm ok and I'll trust that you'll be ok." See I've been able to still be friends with some exs in the past cause I knew that we both knew that we weren't meant to be. But with this ex.. its different. I love him too much just to be friends.. that's not what I want from him. Its like a nerve action potential.. all or nothing (hehehe.. I know its corny). Just wondering what ppl think or if they've been in similar situation. Thanks
Toji Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 If he approaches you I wouldn't just blurt out all that, you might freak him out a little. Just be friendly, but tell him "look, this is a little weird for me, I wish we could be friends, but I just can't right now." Or heck, e-mail him and tell him if you're afraid of him approaching you. If you broke-up on good terms he should understand. Where is it you work and could you find another job?

We both work for the same corporation.. different departments.. he's in one building and I tend to travel throughout the city. So I'd really only seem him when I have business going on in his building. So its not like we are co-workers.. but I will definitely run into him. I love my job too much to give up.
wasted Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 My situation is even worse. i broke up with a gal who works in my office. I tried NC . I tried to do that . But its really difficult when you have be sitting next to each other for 8 hours and you are supposed to work with each other. It REALLY is difficult. And I cant quit my job just coz of her. i love my job. Any Ideas .. ?? So far i have ended myself being her friend.
