buzzie2 Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 :sick I'm feeling kind of sick. Here's why: I met a guy on an online dating site. We seemed to hit it off and sent each other emails for a couple of days. He told me he wanted to meet me after about 4 days. But the kicker was that he lived in another town, didn't have a car, and expected me to come up to visit him. I told him I would be more comfortable if he came up to see me, but then he tried to make me feel guilty by saying the only way he could come up to see me is by bumming a ride from a friend, and that it would be really putting him out. So I told him that after thinking about things, that I wanted to end it. I started out by saying why start something that you can't finish? I told him that although he was a nice guy, that because of the distance, and that he didnt have a car, it wouldnt be fair for me to always come up to see him. I also said that my car wasn't reliable. I ended it really nicely by saying he deserved a local girl who would be willing to commit to, and fall in love with him. Then I wished him all the best in his future. Well he didn't take it so well. He made me feel kind of guilty. Do you think I did the right thing?:
SuperMonk Posted February 27, 2006 Posted February 27, 2006 Yep, you did good. The guy should've thought about it more clearly before trying to date some woman who lives farther than he can bike/walk/bus if he doesn't have a car.
