wileysiren Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 He's admitted he has committment issues. He tells me he likes me, he cares about me. He called me a dozen times on VDay. BUT.. he said he was going to send me an ecard on VDay, but didn't "get around to it". There are other times where it seems clear I am not the No. 1 priority in his life - when I bring this up, he gets defensive (his no. 1 reaction). He is tough to talk to about our relationship - it's been about 10 mos. and I've fallen HARD for him. He says he could love me, but he's afraid to. He has past issues with an ex that screwed him (he broke an engagement with her after she used him and became a control freak in his life) and I don't think he's over that. I have been nothing but giving, loving, un-controlling. he really was into me the first 7 mos. of our relationship, then something happened. All my friends are telling me to bail - but I dont' want to be alone. The grass really isn't greener on the other side, and I'm afraid that he's the one. the ONE.

This is what you do. 1)Back Off, do not ask about where the relationship is heading or if he loves you. 2) Make yourself your top priority. Fill your life with hobbies and other interest. 3) Just have fun. 4) Let him call you. 5) Take time to make yourself look and feel beautiful each day, if you are with him or not. Bottom line, think of this as a fun relationship and nothing else. He will see that you are not breathing down his neck for some intense relationship and he will be more willing to move in that direction.
SuperMonk Posted February 22, 2006 Posted February 22, 2006 Any excuse or bushwhacking a dude or even a dudette gives about being more serious into a relationship always is that "he/she wasn't into you that much" from the beginning.
