MrsHellFire Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Does anyone know of any little GPS device that can be just left in a car and will track where it is going?
Chump64 Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 http://www.garmin.com/products/ Check out the Garmin stuff. How much are you looking to spend? The Etrex ( ~ $100) is one that I looked at, but I wasn't sure if it could be used inside a car. I believe that I read it did work that way. Go to http://www.epinions.com/ and read the product reviews. Another idea is a cheapo voice recorder ($50) which you can easily hide in a car. Of course, that only works if the person you're spying on has someone else in the car.
Chump64 Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 http://www.spyville.com will take money orders or personal checks and will ship to your office (vs home). They have GPS stuff too, I believe.

Just a thought...
Chump64 Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Yes, it picks up everything. You will want to set it on "voice activation recording" only so it only records noise in the vehicle / so you don't have to listen to hours of dead sound. You can get a good 12-hour recorder at Best Buy for $50. The batteries are only good for one day though. I just used cheapo Dollar Store batteries.
whats wrong with me Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Those things are soooo expensive(GPS*), but you can go to radio shack and buy a couple little gadgets to tap a phone line, both are under $30. one you plug right into the phone jack, the other has little clips that you can hook on the phone wires under (or at the side of) your house...in case you need it to be hid. *But heres a place that has them... http://www.spygadgets.com
greenshift Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 If you have to ask this question, you probably already know what you're going to find. Talk to him. Confront him. Go to counselling.
Chump64 Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 But having real evidence in hand is important. Few people are going to admit they are cheating. There is almost nothing worse than "knowing" in your gut, that your spouse is cheating, but having him treat you like you are crazy b/c you have no hard core proof.

greenshift Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 More than that, they won't own up to it unless presented with empirical evidence. My ex was still calling her boy toy and lied when asked a direct question. Even when I showed her the redial number on the home phone was his cell, she insisted that someone else must've done it. For the record: we lived alone, and I'm not a complete moron.
johan Posted February 25, 2006 Posted February 25, 2006 The good little angel sitting on my right shoulder says "never spy". The bad little devil on my left shoulder says "Do it! Nail the bastard with everything you find." It actually occurred to me to hide the GPS receiver I use for running in my ex's car. It was a curiosity thing, more than a trust issue. But hey, you never know. Anyway, mine needs direct line of sight to the sky in order to work. So the trunk would be out of the question. Obviously leaving it in a window somehow or attached to the exterior of the car would either cause it to be noticed very quickly or would result in theft. Also it tends to beep about stuff like low batteries and weak satellite signals. Sooner or later that would reveal your little ploy. But I still think you should try it, as long as you post about the results, whatever they are.
