Tony, thanks for your advise. I had once thought of terminating her empolyment. However, she maintains a very good relationship with my boss and actually no one knows that she is not that capable because i have covered up for her. i know i have to take responsible (maybe 60% not all) for what has happened up to now, but what can I do?

Terminate her employment...but first tell your boss precisely why you must do so.
