For background info i'm a guy aged 17, she is a girl aged 17, we're both in high school and i've had a crush on her for a little while and so this event took place (K is code for her and J is code for me): I walked over to her Her reaction (in my eyes) was to pretend like I wasn't approaching J says "Hey K, can I speak with you?" K knods J waits and she doesn't get the idea so ... J says "in private?" Her friend next to her laughs and sorta says "o0oh.. o.m.g" K follows me as we walk away from her bench where she sits at school J says (while walking) "Basically what I wanted to tell you K was that i've had a crush on you for a while now and i'm the one that sent you that red rose on valentines day" - the rose included a note reading something possibly over-the-top like ("for long I have admired your beauty") K says "yep..." smiles beside me (not looking at me but at the ground) and says "you mean one of the millions of valentines I got" (a joke from which she made from the day before where I had called her) (at this point I feel like she was just saying that for the sake of getting a word in because she is so shy and can't think of anything else to say) J just agrees with her and says "So anyway I just wanted to know how you feel about it" K pauses and looks around a little... K says "I don't know" as she sorta has a blank look on her face J looks a little dazzled and says "you don't know?" K says "I don't know..." and she seems to be avoiding the situation K says "Maybe..." By now J tries to stop in-front of her and look her in the eyes but she still looks away to the side (she is a very shy girl and even talking to her is difficult as its always a one-sided situation) J says "Soo thats it then?" K knods and takes a step back looking at me blankly J takes a step towards her and says "well K I mean its either a Yes or a No.. there is no maybes or I don't know... and if its maybe then it probably means you don't like me" K says "Probably..." pauses and as she walks back to her group besides me she says "No. I think I just like us as friends" J says "Ok, thats all I wanted to know" Pauses looks at her while she doesn't look back and then starts to walk backwards towards his group and says "thankyou for your honesty" K glimpses at me and knods lightly saying "ok..." J says "so we'll be good friends then..." as her back is facing me K says "yep" turns around slightly and proceeds to walk away back to group which is like 2 metres away J returns to his group confused... thinking "right... did I get a real answer there?" --------------------- If you think you know what her answer was please let me know... I gather she doesn't want to be my girlfriend but for some reason it seems to like she does in fact like me. Our history goes back about a year where I befriended her to help out a friend and her get together (they both shy)... eventually they both got together - they lasted a week. I'd like to hear your opinions and perhaps if your a girl help me to understand as to why she would not straight away say "no, im sorry I don't like you" - my friend thinks she just doesn't know how to do rejections, I agree if thats the case but somehow I want to believe she does like me - and afterall she never actually said she didn't like me she just said she prefers us to be friends. This is the 3rd time i've been rejected and it hurts me greatly... I thank anyone who managed to read all of this and give me there honest opinion on things. For background information on our looks we are both decent looking (well I am in my honest opinion) Thankyou please reply asap!! I also need to know where to go from here!
