As far as my understanding goes, this can only be done with close family but even then isn't that more for younger children? I don't even kiss female friends on the cheek, even though my family background is from a country where that is regularly done. In North America it can be taken the wrong way, it's just better not to do it unless you actually like someone I think. But on the bright side he doesn't dig your dog. lol that's the funniest thing I've read all week

Now I kinda feel like a freak haha. I kiss my mom too and my sis...hmmmm. Def. don't kiss guy friends on the lips though... I'm glad your boy has come to this decision!

I guess some women really need a lot of attention? Well, it was noticed. But he didn't really tell me much about her and her husband's reaction. Although I think the guy friend said, "Oh, I guess your gf isn't Italian." Apparently this is practiced in Italian families? Anyway, I'm just happy it's not happening anymore.

My bf answers, "Well, brightskies doesn't like it. I love her so I'm not doing it anymore." Anyway, these people aren't family, they're "friends."

Hey, they're your family and if that's how you're affectionate with each other and it isn't sexual it's all good. No need to feel like a freak; everyone's got their own way. My bf still kisses his immediate family on the mouth and I have no problem with it. My family kisses on the cheeks. Although if he and I end up together and raise kids we already discussed that we're keeping the kisses to the cheeks. Got to be consistent with the house rules, you know?

But on the bright side he doesn't dig your dog. lol that's the funniest thing I've read all week I don't have a dog, but if he were after cat he'd be out on the curb faster than you can say "boo!" I agree with you, but then maybe you and I tend to be more conservative with physical displays of affection. With my very closest friends I'll give give a quick light hug or a cheek kiss. With acquaintances I'll shake hands and if someone goes in for the cheek kiss I'll reciprocate to be polite. If it were up to just me, I wouldn't. Any mouth kisses, quick pecks or otherwise, are only for my man.
