I can't read this guy, so a little guidance would be appreciated...

First off, he's a co-worker, so it's a little tricky there. I've worked with him for almost a year, and the last couple months we've started chatting more, going for coffee, etc. I'm thinking, he's super nice, kinda cute, a good friend...then comes the last few weeks. Everytime he walks through the office he goes out of his way to get to my desk to chat, and there's LOTS of touching. He massages my shoulders, puts his arm around me, plays with my hair. This week he started giving me full-on hugs (in the privacy of his office, not out in open space), and he got me a present for V-Day. A temp that started last week even asked if he was my boyfriend.

This all sounds good right? So today he did me a favour, and I tell him I'll treat him to lunch as a thank-you. He ends up having to work through lunch and eats at his desk. No biggy, happens in our office all the time. So I tell him I'll take him to dinner instead, but he turns me down. His exact words are "I'm too full, not tonight. Maybe some other time."

So, did I read this whole thing wrong, and he's not interested? Or, did I just catch him off-guard by jumpng the gun? Should I just wait and let him take back the lead?

He seems like he's interested.

Maybe he just didn't want you paying for things?

Guys, can you weigh in?

if he got you a present for vday then he is definatly interested. why he is acting that way now.. I dunno. maybe he's stressed out right now? I would just give him some time.

I would let him make the next move. If he's interested he will be around and not avoid you. If he starts playing you off and giving you excuses then he's either changed his mind or you mis-read his intentions.
