ok if anyone has read my rebounds thread they will know that I met someone who I am very excited about getting to know. After much thought I have decided to call her and ask her out....

WHAT DO I DO?!? I have not actually asked anyone out on a date in years. Im freaking out here! how would you suggest that I ask her, keep in mind I will be caling her.

when I do ask.. does anyone have any ideas for a date? aside from the cliche dinner and a movie. I would like to wow her and also get to know her.

anyone?

I wouldnt ask out for coffee. I did, she dodged the answer.

Plus I still haven't had my first date yet.

Good luck, you can do it!

So this guy already tried to ask her out? I'm confused. What does she like to do that might be of common interest for you? First dates are always a little nerve racking! I would do some sort of picnic type of date, that way you two are able to talk, and get to know each other more, movies take away from the "getting to know" part, so try to look up what might be going on in your city, concerts, or dancing, anything of that nature.

nature would be good and all but I live in Canada, it's -10c right now! she does enjoy the cold though... coffee is definatly cliche though. I want to wow this girl!

Honest to god, the best first dates I've ever had are the ones that start off with dinner and you end up talking for so long you realize you're the last people left and the staff is wanting to close up. The wow factor doesn't come from WHAT, it comes from WHO. Ask her out for lunch or dinner, and take it from there. If it goes well you can suggest taking a walk or a drive (depending on the weather), go to an art gallery. Movies aren't good for a first date because you don't get to actually talk to each other - save those for later.
