Gator762 Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 Sorry for the long post, but I needed to get this out... Ugh. So I gave my interest a modest bouquet of flowers last night. (Pink carnations and red tulips, no overkill roses). We've been casual friends for a long time, but then seeing each other regularly for over a month now. I mistakenly said the friend word. I said that it hasn't been too long and that I knew we started seeing each other as friends, but it was Valentine's day and being the romantic that I am I hope that our relationship turns into something more. The situation did get a bit awkward. We had earlier in the day planned on going to a ball this weekend. The deadline for tickets is now today, and I asked her if she still wanted to go (I probably should have just assumed she would). She said she had to think about it, and would send an email last night. She didn't, which I remain hopeful about, as I interpret that it isn't an easy decision for her. Ugh. The odds are against us, but the more I get to know her, the more I like her. The attraction is definatly there for both of us. Everyone around me at school comments that she is glowing around me, and jokingly refer to her as my girlfriend. It also seems that she really enjoys the time with me. We spent Sunday together, and she thanked me at least three times and said how she was really enjoying herself. We laughed a lot and there was even a little bit of sexual innuendo jokes between us. But there's a lot against us. I'm out of a marriage, but feel like I'm ready for a relationship again. That's what took me so long to act on this, despite the obvious attraction. She has been out of a 6-month relationship for a longer period, and I see that she still isn't over it. Then she will be out of school in 5 months, and not sure where she will be after that. Despite all that, I am a romantic at heart. I'm willing to risk the heartache because she seems worth it. She makes me want to become a better man. And isn't that what romance is about, finding your love out there against the odds?
