This may be one of those issues where my limited exerience is out of whack with the rest of the world - but I've found that most women don't like the Simpsons or anything like that. Surely that's a sweeping generalisation?!

Ladies, do you chuckle at Homer? Are you able to 'suspend your disbelief' and empathise with a 2D yellow abstract representation of fictional human beings? Is it proof that men are still little boys mentally, who haven't grown up yet? What gives? Why, out of at least a dozen women I can think of (where I *KNOW* whether they like The Simpsons or not) does only ONE like the show? Is this a statistical fluke, or do most women actually have no time for animated humour? Even those who love the Disney classics seem to miss the adult level of jokery in Springfield.. such a shame!

Please chip in with a simple "I like cartoons like the Simpsons, King of the Hill, Futurama, American Dad, etc" or "no, it's for kids - grow up!"

Family Guy :lmao:

Most of the girls I know dislike the 2D cartoons that go off the edge with edgy jokes and "Vile" humor.

That's too bad though, I live for humor. It's one of the better aspects of our culture as a whole.

I think the Simpsons and King of the Hill are far more intelligent and entertaining than tripe like "Desperate Housewives"

I used to adore Space Ghost, The Brak Show and other off-the-wall late night cartoons too. That's my kind of humour.

I've found few women who share that taste.

I love(d) the Simpsons (later series have been dire), Futurama, Family Guy and Dr Katz. Always thought it was one of my bonus features as a prospective girlfriend. :D

Statistical fluke, FWIW. I used to love the Simpsons (although 10+ years in, I won't go out of my way to watch the show anymore, I admit). In addition to the usual suspects (South Park, Simpsons, Futurama) I'm also a huge fan of Cartoon Network stuff (remember Space Ghost Coast to Coast??).

On a side note - I've noticed that lots of times men post that women don't like cartoons. And the women reply that of course they do.

So, Gentlemen - what sort of Lady friends do you have, anyway, that create this skewed picture of reality??? :p

Edited to add: Me too, I LOVED Dr. Katz!!!

Just noticed JayKay already mentioned Space Ghost. Rock on! :D

It's not a cartoon, but it involves robots...did anyone else here watch Mystery Science Theater 3000? Oh my God, sometimes (especially in the earlier, Joel years) it was so funny I couldn't breathe. :bunny:

I'm such a geek. :D

I love cartoons. South Park, Simpsons, you name it, I'll watch it. My hubby doesn't like South Park at all, but he laughs at me because of what I find funny about the show.

I love some kids cartoons too (well not too many now-a-days, but in the past) ofcourse LOONEY TUNES is number 1.
