So, I've been dating my new guy for a few months, and have NO idea what to get him for Vday. I know that he's taking me out to dinner - and I haven't an idea of whether or not he's getting me anything. Do guys even like getting gifts for VDay? Is it too cliche? I was thinking about cufflinks from tiffany's (I know that he uses them a lot)...Is that gift too practical? Should I just get a card?

Ahh, getting gifts for the Male. I'd imagine it's tough, but I've never had to get a gift for a dude before. ;)

(And as far as birthdays go, a guy can just get another guy cash! )

Anyway, cufflings sound like a good idea. If he's taking you out he probably got you something from Zales or La-rog's or your local jewlry center. I mean, that's what I usually do for the first V-day.

Plus, if he uses them a lot, it's a pratical idea because its thoughtful and whatnot. Nice choice :D

Anyway, good luck!

Treat Valentine's like any other day, some women got to stop making this into some special non-holiday. I know you ladies want to make your man happy, but a lot of women are bent that they should be "getting something" from their man on this pseudo-holiday. If you wanna do something, chill together , do something fun together. Get a card or some inexpensive gift.

Super Monk:

I know that valentine's day makes a lot of corporations a lot of money, including hallmark, godiva, etc., but on this day, I decide to conform to the masses...It's fun to celebrate your adoration for someone on a day devoted to just that (even though I do do it everytime we are together). I want to get him something special on this day to reinforce my adoration. Yes, just spending time together is fun, but I have the means to get something nice, and that's my choice. If I sound contradictory, sorry :)

So yes, ThatOneGuy, I'm going to go with the cufflinks or something along those lines. I'm sure he'll appreciate the thought even if he doesn't end up using them. Thanks!

I think candy and/or chocolates is always good... guys love chocolate :) I would say flowers too but that might weird him out.
