Theirs a girl on the girls swim team that I really like however I only see her sometimes at practive and at meets. Shes usually around a group of her friends and it seems real awkward to walk up to her and try to start a conversation or ask for her phone number. Is there anything I can do that could break the ice that without making me look like an idiot? Thanks

JohnM Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Go over to her (if you can when shes not in the group) and ask her a question about the swimming thingy. Just make something up even if you know its answer and ask her. That'll start off a convo, you don't have to get her number the first time you meet her. This ain't no bar and you'll probably see her in another day, next time you see her either relate back to the question form the last time or just say hi and think of a simple conversation topic to lead with.
