In Sync Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Personally after careful consideration...I'm not shying away with my tail between my legs over Valentine's Day. Uh huh! No way! ..I've spent since April coping with a broken heart and the long road to healing it..And guess what? I discovered self-love. I certainly don't need to be stingy about showing me, who's been needing that love, some attention. And just because that bad-luck penny of an X is no longer around, that's not a reason for me to feel any less loving towards Me or displaying it to those I do love. So on Valentine's Day, I choose to treat myself like a Princess on That Day. I'll buy my own chocolates, flowers, perfume and (those nice hottie boots I've been eyeing this last week) I've been working out at the gym, and you can be sure I'm wearing something cute and flirty...FOR MYSELF...I don't need a stinkin' card from an X, god forbid! But if I am so in need I can pick that up for myself as well. I certainly don't want to take away from anyone who's bf/gf will do this, but I am not going to hide in a bat cave because my X is not around to do it...I say go out and treat yourself like the Valentine YOU ARE!
AltplanB Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 thats awesome. Im glad your doing so well. I wish i could say the same. I guess it just takes more time. More time and NC.
coasting Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 I agree with you 110 percent. Valentine's day would have been my and the ex's anniversary, there for making it hard for me to celebrate it with anyone other then him.....But I do intend on celebrating it with myself. As you I plan on buying my own flowers and a card from the cats, and I think I will perfectly content with my choices!
Author In Sync Posted February 4, 2006 Author Posted February 4, 2006 thats awesome. Im glad your doing so well. I wish i could say the same. I guess it just takes more time. More time and NC. My dear friend, you are doing well. Don't confuse grieving a loss relationship with not doing well. The fact that you have committed to NC, shows self preservation and that means you do love yourself and that means the degree of how much you choose to love you falls in your hands NOT the hands of your X. I'm not bragging or boasting, but to share my growth with you. If I could I would send each and everyone of you on LS a big Valentine (well I can:love: ) But most importantly, don't allow the demise of a relationship take away your LOVE or CAPACITY to LOVE again...and that first seed has to begin with yourself. I at first was mocking Valentine's Day, but that was because I saw a truth, I was about to go down that road of it didn't work out for me, so poo poo it. Well that's negative thinking...it's a Day to stop and pause, albeit it can be silly, it can also have a message. There's no X in my life, YET I'm doing more than well, I choose to show love to myself now and always. Sometimes we have the hardest time showing love for ourselves. I guarantee you on VD, if you buy yourself some flowers and place them in front of you...YOU WILL LIGHT UP.
Author In Sync Posted February 13, 2006 Author Posted February 13, 2006 I JUST WANNA BE THE FIRST TO WISH ALL MY FELLOW LS POSSE HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY! CELEBRATE IT. SHOW LOVE TO YOURSELF AND EVERYONE AROUND YOU!!! hee hee ...I know. I'm a day early.

Posting a link to a sex toys website on another thread gave me an idea about how to not only enjoy Valentine's Day, but actually inspire envy in others. Tomorrow, I'm taking the bus to work (I normally drive). On the way home, in front of all the other passengers, I'm going to pull a sex toy out of my bag, hold it up in the air with one hand - and in the other I'll hold up a great big Valentine's card and say "Oh how wonderful...but you shouldn't have spent all that money sweetie. Yes I know you earn a good wage, but that's not the point! What's that? (holding the dildo to my ear) roses and chocolates too. Oh you monkey!" Then I'll switch it on, and as it starts to vibrate I'll giggle coyly, give it a slap and say "Not in front of all these peeeeople, sweeetie! I know I look hot in this suit, but let's just wait until I get home." Then when we get home, I'll dress it in a tux and cook it a nice meal. I'll even give it a blow job as a special Valentine's Day treat....but I draw the line at anal!
a4a Posted February 13, 2006 Posted February 13, 2006 Lindya that sounds like the best Valentines Date EVER!!!! I may dress up 2 or 3 of my fellas and have a real feast myself. Of course I do not have the option of a bus...... but perhaps if I mounted my horse and rode through town declaring my love and waving my "date" to the public? Dress the lil fella up like a cowboy with hat and chaps? Do not forget the batteries. This is one part of the relationship so many forget about!

I'm wondering if it's too late to book a table at the swishest restaurant in town (not that that's saying much, given my current location) for me and my lover Perhaps I'll take a tip from you (chortle) and book a table for 6. Me and 5 "friends". I can deliberate - loudly enough for other diners to hear, obviously - which of the "guys" is going to get lucky tonight. Who knows. I might even go home and do a DP. Or a TP.
Author In Sync Posted February 13, 2006 Author Posted February 13, 2006 hallelujah!!!! Is there a party in the house...that's the spirit!

Lonely and confused Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Lindya. I have to say. That was sexy. Not to be sexist, the sexiest thing I have heard a woman say in a while. Unless you are a man, then to each his own. But everyone good luck today. Its just a day, and most are spending it alone. atleast we got hands!
lindya Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 That was sexy. Not to be sexist, the sexiest thing I have heard a woman say in a while. Unless you are a man... The idea of a man on a bus pulling out a vibrator and starting to flirt with it tickles me greatly. Perfectly normal behaviour for a woman, of course...
notmakingsense Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Its just a day, and most are spending it alone. atleast we got hands! Another day... just me and my five faithful friends once again... I think I'll start casing a few bus-stops to watch out for women having a good time with their vibrators!

a4a Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 Did you also book a table for 6? need a table for 7 if you want to invite the lotion along.
lindya Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 need a table for 7 if you want to invite the lotion along. I understand some restaurants do a very nice béarnaise sauce that can double as a lotion. In fact some of the more environmentally friendly establishments operate a sort of "waste not want not" policy in terms of the ingredients of that sauce. Happy Valentines Day to all you lovers who are going out to/have just returned from a romantic dinner for two. My regards to the chef!

A special hello to all of you who enjoyed the linguine and clam sauce special tonight. I do hope you remembered to thank all the kitchen hands who worked so tirelessly for your culinary pleasure.
