cygny Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Alot of guys on these forums are hurting because of breakups. I'm just wondering if a**holes hurt and just don't show it when they get dumped or dissed--or whether they are so hardened they don't feel anything? Does anybody know one or is anyone who is sort of jerky can you anonymously say what goes on inside you/them?
justagirliegirl Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 I am only speculating but I suspect jerks are probably the biggest cry babies of them all if someone does something rude or bad to them.
CaliGuy Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 A better question, has anyone met a jerk here yet? I mean I don't think the guys who are considered classic jerks will end up on a support forum. They don't think they have a problem (complete denial) so most certainly I can't see them having feelings the way a 'nice' guy would.
JayKay Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 A lot of jerks are actually pretty wimpy guys who got stepped on all through life. They decided that the only way to garner respect was to start acting like an a**h***. I'm sure they have a lot of feelings; mostly feelings about fear and insecurity. Every jerk I've ever know has been a big mess of insecurities and anger. People with self respect and general positive outlook on life aren't usually so jerky. 1
hyakku Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 If you mean jerk as in abusing women, etc, then yea even they do. If you mean just a confident man who is indifferent, then they probably feel alot less. Personally, rejection to me isn't much anymore, you win alot and you lose some (this is the way I think, its not arrogance its confident in myself), if a guy is secure it doesn't hurt too much.
riobikini Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 RE: " Do jerks have feelings, too?" Yes, they do, -but they are afraid of showing how little. (Smile) -Rio
whichwayisup Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Yes, but you'll never see a jerk show that side of him/her. Unless the person is a Narcissist, then yes. I remember one guy I dated was a real jerk. When he broke up with me, he was very cruel. I now know that he needed to make me feel like s*** so he could feel better. People who go around treating others so badly, hurting them on purpose means that inside THEY are the ones who are unhappy and hurting...They just need to make someone feel as miserable as they are.

I'm talking more about emotional capacity to bond and have deeper feelings, so that he pines after a breakup. thinks about her all the time.
jerbear Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 I've dated a female version of a jerk. Learned my lesson. I could be wrong but the female version does show some feelings and would then bond. After any closeness they just break away.
