Wing Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Hey, I need some ideas from someone experienced. I have been with my bf for 2 months, this is my first relationship, also his first. ( I am 21 and he is 20). Valentine day is coming. But I am not sure do I suppose to get him present? and if so I really have no idea what sort of present is appropriate. since we only been together for 2 months so far. Please help me with some ideas. Thanks everyone.
slubberdegullion Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 This is an excellent opportunity for you two to really practice on your communication skills and manage (and set) expectations. If you want something, tell him. If you want to get him something, ask him what he'd like. Better yet, forego the candy hearts and sickly chocolate and overpriced cards and dying flowers. Start your own little tradition.

I'm on the exact page as Wing here.....
slubberdegullion Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Hey, if the BF hates VD, all the better! No requirement of presents, no expectations to be dashed, no problem whatsoever!

What if I want something... Or maybe we can make this something we both just don't celebrate... IF he doesn't like it then I shouldn't pressure him to celebrate it. Since he is Irish I guess we can just move on to celebrate St. Patty's day...
slubberdegullion Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 What if I want something Then get it yourself. IF he doesn't like it then I shouldn't pressure him to celebrate it.Exactly. Nor should he pressure you if he wants to celebrate Groundhog Day or National Titty Awareness Week or something like that.
agnf666 Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Okay... Thanks for the info... Sounds good to me... I'm all about not celebrating it.... If he celebrates Groundhogs day then I'm going to LMAO...
