I wonder if I am on to something here……

 

Could the type of music our SO’S/boy/girl/friends seem really into tell us something about them???? Do particular songs forewarn of things to come? Do you find that they seem to turn up the volume when certain songs come on??? And that they seem really into it??

 

I noticed, a few years back that my then boyfriend used to turn the music up real loud and jam out to particular songs. I never really paid much mind except for recently, as it seems to be happening in my current relationship……hindsight is always 20/20 they say….I am noticing that he seems really into the “cheating” songs, if you know what I mean…The songs that are suggestive of going behind the girlfriends back, meeting chicks, having emotional affairs, being with one while thinking of another, leaving the wife/girlfriend at home so you can have your fun, you catch my drift….

Just a stab in the dark, but...I'm guessing that it's selective memory. Those are the songs you remember and pick up on now, thanks to what happened.

 

Before I got married (I'm now divorced) I never knew such a thing as bridal shops existed. They were there, I'm sure, but my eyes glided right over them. Then, when I needed them, suddenly it was like they were everywhere; I couldn't believe how many bridal shops existed in the world. It was like they were following me around.

 

I think it's like that with anything - once you start looking for a thing, you find it all around you.

Hmmm... This is kindof funny... Before me and my bf started dating he was telling me about his favorite band. In which, since his heritage is Irish... He is all about Irish music. So, I think that was cool. So, he plays me this song "Kiss me I'm shytfaced"... In which, is a funny ass song.

 

Well, about a week ago... He came over after he went to the bar... He was a little drunk and This song happens to come on the radio... Lets just say... What an interesting make-up song this is.. LOL... Wierd...

Thinking about this made me sad. My recent ex used to play Beatles songs on the guitar and sing them to me, the really old ones. Sometimes he would do this to help me go to sleep or to relax me.

It's possible. I was in the beginning stages of an affair, had kissed another man and was chatting on the phone with him. Because I didn't feel like I could talk to any of our mutual friends about it, I found myself wanting to hear songs about infidelity as an outlet of trying to work through it. I tried not to play them around my SO in case he had any inkling.

I agree with serial muse that it's more selective memory than anything. Some songs are evocative of personal experiences, sometimes it's nothing more than good music.

My husband was having and affair five months ago. The lady that he was with used to put romantic songs to him, such as kiss your mouth, i like your hair, eye ect....Now i told my husband that he won't never forget about the other woman because this songs, we listen to them almost every day in the radio or outside.
