I'm in a longterm LDR. When we are together things are perfect...we talk all the time. On the other hand, on the phone SOMETIMES we can talk forever and then other times the conversation just goes nowhere. I am not really looking for advice on how to fix it (although I'll take that, too) but I want to know--Is this normal in an LDR?

We have been together a little over 3.5 years, and we see each other at least twice a month.

Hi,

I have the same thing happen sometimes. i JUST hung up with my BF - and we had NOTHING to talk about. so we hung up after 5 mins. and i was bummed for a second but its fine. He called to say hi and see how i was and thats it.

Other times we talk for an hour. Its depends on our moods.

I think its fine.

Same thing happens with me and my bf (LDR 3 months, together 1.5 yrs). It's funny because you'd think since you're not in each others lives on a daily basis you'd have more to talk about but sometimes it's just the opposite.

It does get me down sometimes.

I was just going to post to ask about that! Sometimes, we have GREAT conversations that last an hour (seems like this was more frequent at the beginning) and sometimes, not so much. he gets sort of weird on the phone sometimes too, and i don't know what to do about that...it doesn't happen nearly as much when we're in person. when we were physically involved with the same activities earlier on before it went ldr, there was never a dearth of things to talk about. I'm just frustrated, as are you. (he's never had anything but ldr though...i have.) so you're not alone i guess.
