Hi everyone. Has anyone ever heard of a song called endlessly by the british band MUSE. What are your interpretations of the lyrics? Just out of interest because it's obviously a love song but what is it about exactly? Thanks

I don't have an interpretation, but here are the lyrics; handily quoted for future interpretation. Looks like a good song, I'll check it out next time I'm on iTunes.

"Endlessly"

There's a part of me you'll never know

The only thing I'll never show

Hopelessly I'll love you endlessly

Hopelessly I'll give you everything

But I won't give you up

I won't let you down

And I won't leave you falling

If the moment ever comes

It's plain to see it's trying to speak

Cherished dreams forever asleep

Hopelessly I'll love you endlessly

Hopelessly I'll give you everything

But I won't give you up

I won't let you down

And I won't leave you falling

If the moment ever comes

Hopelessly I'll love you endlessly

Hopelessly I'll give you everything

But I won't give you up

I won't let you down

And I won't leave you falling

But the moment never comes

My interpretation is that it's something like that Meatloaf song that goes something like "i would do anything for love, but i won't do that." I've never been sure what that means, either, but it seems like this guy (the muse song) is really closed off to the person he loves and won't let them inside a big part of them. He loves them with all of his being, but he just can't show it?

That was just my 2cents, though - I'm terrible at song interpretation.

BTW - this band is the F***ing Sh*T - They have an interesting "Radiohead" sound to them, but much more melodic :) Like early radiohead...maybe.

Thanks for the introduction - I see a new CD in my future.

Thanks for that. Actually my son is in a choir and the choir teacher(male) gave it to the boys to sing for the end of year concert, and these boys are age 7,I thought it was a very odd song choice.

Well, it's certainly an odd choice, but I don't know how inappropriate it is. The teacher could just like the song - and since they're only 7, the kids won't understand it, anyway.

At her third recital, when she was about 9, my sister sang "Think of Me" from Phantom of the Opera. It didn't mean much to me coming from the mouth of a nine-year-old. I know that's a more appropriate song than, say..."Music of the Night," from the same opera, but the point I'm trying to make is that I don't think there is a subliminal message in the songs the teachers choose for their students.

He could just be a big fan of prog rock.

Muse absolutely KICKS ARSE!

I suggest listening to the songs "Hysteria" (no, not a Def Leppard cover!) and "Stockholm Syndrome."

Muse has to be one of the best bands to come out in the last 5 years, IMHO.
