PlentyLV007 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 I told the guy I'm seeing, that he said somethings to me that bothered me and while I was trying to explain my thoughts he was laughing...and I said "your trippin". I asked "why are you laughing?"....he said "it's funny, your just trippin!" I didn't think there was anything funny about my honesty? What is that laughing about?

I mean....I still can't believe he was laughing.... I cut it short and said, I'll let you laugh by yourself...he said no, no ...thank you for being honest....and changed the subject....??!!!??? I mean what the hell?

witabix Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 Nervous reaction? Thats how I had it explained to me when I had something to say and got laughed at. Still don't know if its true, but thats what she said, it was a nervous reaction. It really annoyed me, it feels like they are totally dismissing you and what you have to say doesn't it? Not nice. Taught me to always listen properly and react appropriately to the message I am receiving.

Sounds like an "I'm way too cool to discuss this with you" response. What's he normally like, personality wise? Is he an interesting person to talk to, or is he little more than a conglomeration of pop phrases?

We've had differences and yet when one or the other feels aquard or distant we talk about it. Not making each other feel less... Now these past couple of times we've talked it's been like that...where he's just not interested, or not all there, or like when I brought this up...he just laughed.... Yet if he's not interested or my thoughts don't matter....why does he keep calling!? Hurting my feelings!? At least recently.... It's been about a month that we've been talking, seeing each other...but, I mean what's the deal here.... You just don't laugh...and then when I ask what's funny, I'm trying to be honest and tell you what bothers me .... you tell me "I'm trippin". As if I was the one doing something wrong!?

Yet if he's not interested or my thoughts don't matter....why does he keep calling!? If the two of you have run out of conversation after a month, that isn't a great sign at all. I'd imagine that he keeps calling because he's hot for your body, but it doesn't sound as if he's too interested in what's going on inside your head. If you feel so hot for him that you really don't care how shallow the rest of the relationship is, then just focus on the physical aspects. Otherwise, I'd be inclined to start easing this guy out of your life.
