james wright Posted yesterday at 02:18 PM Posted yesterday at 02:18 PM This is honestly heartbreaking, and I’m really sorry you went through something so sudden and traumatic. What he did—especially so close to such a life-changing move—was incredibly unfair and destabilizing, and it makes sense that you feel shocked, lost, and exhausted right now. Please know that your feelings are valid, and this does not define your worth or your future, even if it feels impossible to see that today. Right now, focus on small, grounding steps and leaning on the family you do have; survival mode is okay. When everything feels overwhelming, even breaking things down into small, practical pieces can help a bit sometimes I literally write things out or use simple tools (even something basic like a ti-30xs online calculator to plan expenses or next steps) just to regain a sense of control. Be gentle with yourself. Healing from something like this takes time, but this is not the end of your story. Quote

Why would someone do this? There are several possible reasons, including the fact that some people are genuinely messed up... But that doesn't really matter. The reasons don't matter, only that he did this. I promise you that in the future, you'll be glad that you found this out before you moved. It may not feel that way now but I promise you that you will. Are you still interested in doing grad school? Maybe in some other country? What are your plans for your career? Do your have friends whom you can talk to any this? It's good that you're talking to a therapist! All the best for the road ahead. Quote
