basil67 Posted July 22 Posted July 22 This is in 'Business and Professional Relationships" sub. Are they a close work friend? This makes it more difficult. Can you just start to drift away? Quote
MsJayne Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Have they done something that warrants the end of the friendship? Quote
ShySoul Posted July 24 Posted July 24 What happened? How close are you? What is causing problems between you? In general, honesty is the best policy. If you have been close to someone and feel the issue could still be resolved, it's best to have a calm, reasonable, and nonjudgemental discussion. Address whatever the problem is and try to work together to understand each other's viewpoint. Compromise if possible. If the difference is too large, they won't work with you, or whatever happened is a serious offense - then wish them well but slowly distance yourself from the person. No need to make this a big ordeal. Stay polite and friendly when needed, just try to limit interactions. Eventually, things will drift away naturally. Quote
