thatwoman567 Posted July 22 Posted July 22 There’s so much conflicting information ! Some say….put nothing but a few funny quotes because you want to leave mystery. Some people say just put bluntly “looking for a marriage minded man”. Other people say not to write ‘looking for marriage’ because it scares or real good men. You have to play it cool with ‘casual…but open to more?” i have had no real luck on these things, meeting either man-boys who have no idea what they want, or fresh out of relationship, recently separated people who also have no interest in long term. so if you are / were on one of these websites, what sort of information would you like to see and read about a woman ….if let’s say you were looking for a better half? And what sort of information would make you say ‘nope’? Maybe any specific key words to add or avoid? Thanks Quote
Gebidozo Posted July 22 Posted July 22 Personally, most kinds of “looking for” would put me off, especially if it’s heavy stuff like marriage and some such. Not because I’m not interested, on the contrary, but because I want to be 100% sure that the woman is interested in me rather than in somebody who would fulfill that or another wish of hers. A definite “nope” would be any kind of a materialistic deal, such as a woman looking for someone to support her financially, etc. What I would definitely want to see is some information about ethical values, spiritual beliefs, and intellectual interests. These are of an utmost importance to me. Another thing that would be very important to figure out as soon as possible is attitude to romantic love and sex. However, that kind of information, though highly valuable, is hard to put into words and insert into a brief character introduction. Quote
MsJayne Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Include something like, "I have traditional values and would one day like to settle down with the right person". Use the filters when you set up your profile and tick the box that asks what type of relationship you're looking for, such as 'Long Term'. Then sit back and keep in mind that date sites are full of creeps, psychos, and scammers. Quote
ShySoul Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Be honest and write whatever comes from the heart. Your goal shouldn't be to write what will attract someone else. It should be to attract the person that is the right match for you. And the right match will be someone who sees the real you, the you that shines through naturally from your own personality. Don't follow any tips or tricks from outsiders. Just be yourself. The right person will be interested in you just as you are, no tricks necessary. Also keep in mind that most people probably aren't on there looking to get married. The majority will be just interested in having fun, going out, maybe a relationship after some time. For those people, it won't matter what you write. So don't get discouraged. Keep in mind that you've got bigger things in mind then most people are probably ready for, thus it most likely won't be a quick search. I suggest trying to meet people the old fashioned natural way. But if you want to use websites, maybe research which ones are geared to those looking for more serious and long term partnerships. Quote
