XMM reached out 8 months after NC

I finally ended things with MM because I didn't want to live like that anymore. He could only see me during his work hours some our plans would often get canceled when things would come up on the last minute. He only wanted to hook up in our cars close to his work. He never wanted to come over to my apartment. Eventually I got tired of it and he started telling me that his new job is going to make it hard of us to see each other since it was going to be busier. So  I sent him a text telling him good bye. He didn't put up a fight and I blocked him. This was more than a year ago and I moved on

Today, I was checking something on my phone under settings and I came across a feature that says blocked "messages" I didn't even know that I could still receive messages from numbers that I blocked. So I clicked on it out of curiosity and there was message from XMM that he sent back in 2023 saying how he misses me being in his life and he has been looking at my old pics and videos that I sent to him. Then he says if I don't him to reach out to let him know. I had no idea that he reached out and I'm confused why he would

He told you why he reached out - he was missing you being in his life.   He probably also wanted to know if you'd be up for more shenanigans.  Lucky you missed his message and didn't get sucked back in

No, XMM don't always reappear.  Some decide to sort themselves out and fix their marriages.  Other MM will find a new lover.

He got behind the wheel one day and missed all the car sex. At least you can't fool yourself into believing that it was all the great memories.

This was an old message from 2023. This wasn't him trying to come back into your life today. Essentially this is the same as finding an old picture or letter, something that reminds you of a person you once knew and were close to. It brings up old feelings and makes you think of them again, but it doesn't need to be anything more them a brief flash of memories.

Truth is, no one knows what he was thinking. There is every chance he was up to the same tricks as before. There is also the chance that he genuinely missed you  and had changed himself, trying to be better. No one to know. It's better for your own well being to not think negatively about it, rehasing the old feelings and hurt he caused. Leave it in the past. Instead, focus on the present. Focus on you and leading the kind of life you want to live, being happy doing your own thing.
