I hear the advice of "ditch the dating apps; it's easier to meet people in real life."  I want to agree with that, but so far, it just hasn't seemed that way in my experience.

When I go to real-life social events.  Many people there are already with their pre-existing group of friends and want to stay with their group.  And most people are already partnered (especially in social circles past age 30).

Maybe you'll see 1-2 people who are single and open to meeting new people, but that's not a lot of volume.  Doesn't it take meeting a lot of people to find your partner?

Meeting people organically is the opposite of volume!

I'm old enough to have only ever dated before OLD, and back in the day we'd meet someone and you'd either get into a long term relationship, or break up and not meet a new single person for another six months.    Also, most of us would have only a handful or relationships before marrying one of them.   And yes, we also divorced, but at no greater rate than people who use OLD to date hundreds looking for the perfect person.

I think that part of the equation which worked well for us is that because we met people through our friends or locally, there was a fair chance they were the kind of person who grew up like us and enjoyed the same kind of things, and had similar morals and ethics.

These are your social targets. Chat them up and learn whether they resonate as potential friends. If they are a lot older, consider them potential social mentors. Older people are more experienced and enjoy hosting parties and attending events where they orchestrate introductions. They can be your 'wing people' socially, and they can advise you on ways to integrate into a fabulous social life.
