People will say why don't you leave but I'm a coward There is nothing to living on your own. Do you have a child? If so, what are you teaching them by staying with a man who beats you. He's not going to stop. They never do stop the hitting once they see you'll take it and shut up. In 3 years you'll look in the mirror and won't even recognize yourself. Being a coward is no excuse to stay with an abusive man. I can't believe you are that much of a coward if you can take a chance with your life and stay over at one of your abuser's friend's house and mess around with him. A coward would be scared to death to do something like that. I think you just don't want to be without a man so you stay. Do you have a job??

Bills for one. I've lived alone for 15 years....it's a heck of a lot easier having a partner to split bills with. It's impossible to get ahead (for me anyway). @Confusedsad81 you're not a coward, at least not in a way that you need to beat yourself up about it. But, you DO need to not expect it to be easy. Forget about that and realize you can do hard things. Get help from a women's shelter. Be willing to live with the bare minimum until you can get yourself on your feet and become a success story. The first step is getting yourself to a place where you're willing to do the very hard things.
