Well the title pretty much covers it. Is it better to learn to be happy with what you have or change the things that make you unhappy?

everybody should always try to alter things that they are not happy about to make themselves happy.

It is all part of living a fullfilling life.. on certain things never settle

What a great thread starter!

It's better to concentrate on the happy stuff and ofcourse change (if one can) the things that make you unhappy. The thing is, we'll always have things in life that will make us unhappy at a times.

I think for me it's a combination of both, trying hard to change some things always, but it's quite as challenging accepting things that can't change and learn to live with it, without being unhappy about it. I think discovering one's limitations is always hard, accepting them even harder..then learning to live with them... But to make up for it can always improve things you have more control over :)

need to go to work now, but will think up some examples by tonight.

Like the Serenity Prayer says:

God grant me the serenity

to accept the things I cannot change;

courage to change the things I can;

and wisdom to know the difference.

Nice one. I agree with that. But how often do we know the difference!? I'm still grappling with it.

I think its good to learn to be happy with what we have. However, people will always want things they can't have etc. But theres always room for improvement within ourselves if its what we feel we need/should do.
