Well, I'm thrown back into the ring after being married for a number of years, so I've been out of the game for a while. Looking for some advice, as it seems like the dating world has changed quite a bit!

I'm in very good physical shape, and above-average looking. I used to be quite shy, but I think that's changed quite a bit since being married. Once I strike up a conversation, most people enjoy my sense of humor, and conversation seems to flow pretty easy.

Where a lot comes into question is that it seems the dating world has changed quite a bit, for example going out for coffee seems to be the casual first date. (Or few dates?). How soon is dinner and a movie too much? I do know to keep the dining casual and fun for a while. How soon is too soon for the cozy romantic spots? I gotta admit I'm a bit of a romantic at heart. And lastly IM and email - should that be minimized, to keep conversation fresh on dates?

Then there's also the fact that I'm a bit traditional I suppose. I'm not too comfortable dating or seeing multiple women at once. I like to be exclusive, and it doesn't seem fair to the one I may want to be more involved with. Which brings me to possibly getting too attached too soon - you know, over-analyzing responses: she says she's busy, but is she just busy, or not that interested? I guess seeing multiple women before things got serious could help, but I don't know if I can be comfortable doing that.

Bueller? Hello?

alot of women are in the same situation as you and not looking for casual flings. i think its all about finding similar types. how old are you, how long have you been single and what have you done as far as dating so far? another possibility is the online dating sites like match.com, but that is a real mixed bag.
