Years ago I was dating this man for 3 months when he told me I was not `broken`enough for him. He explained that he was like a duck with a broken leg and he would match better with another duck with a broken leg so they could lean on each other. I was too `whole` as a person.

Not a breakup story, but definitely the most bizarre reason I’ve ever heard for a potential breakup. My buddy’s girlfriend told him she wanted a dog. He said he was afraid of dogs and wouldn’t want to have one. She told him that if he doesn’t get her a dog she’ll break up with him. He was afraid of losing her and got a dog. A few weeks later she got bored with the dog and gave it away.
